Enjoy a relaxing holiday in the tranquil countryside of southwest France.
Our 19th century farmhouse is situated in the Aveyron department in the Midi
Pyrenees region of southwest France, just 40 minutes from Rodez and under
2 hours from Toulouse. The Aveyron is home to 10 of the official most beautiful
villages in France, numerous medieval chateaux and the spectacular gorges
of the Tarn and Aveyron rivers. It is famous for its Roquefort cheese, the
Laguiole knife and the incredible Millau viaduct, the tallest road bridge
in the world.
We are located deep in the Aveyron countryside, the last house in the hamlet with stunning views from our 2 acre garden, but only 10 minutes from Rieupeyroux with it’s restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops, swimming pool and weekly market.

For shorter breaks or for those not wanting a self catering holiday,
we also let the two gite bedrooms on a bed and breakfast basis. For
our B&B guests a gourmet continental breakfast of fresh bread, pastries,
homemade jams, cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice, tea or coffee is served
in the guest lounge. B&B guests have use of a guest lounge, fridge,
microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. Evening meals prepared using the freshest organic produce from our fruit and vegetable garden can be enjoyed by gite and B&B guests anytime during your stay. Some example menus are provided on the Meals page to whet your appetite. |
The Aveyron is the perfect place for a holiday any time of year. Spring sees
the start of the Brocante and Antique markets and the countryside is at it’s
greenest, Summer is full of activity in the fields with farmers making hay
and cutting corn and every village has it’s annual fete, Autumn sees
the harvesting of apples, pears and figs and the first of this year’s
wine from Marcillac and Gaillac, Winter can be magical with incredible light,
Christmas markets in Rodez and Albi and snow.
Outside the Aveyron, our neighbouring departments in the Midi Pyrenees have many more top class attractions. To the north is the pilgrimage site of Rocamadour, the 2nd most visited site in France. To the west you can sample the deep red wines of Cahors or visit one of the top 3 most beautiful villages in France - St. Cirque Lapopie. To the south is the stunning medieval walled city of Cordes-sur-Ciel and to the east the truly breathtaking Tarn Gorges.
